Hilmar Vidarsson
Dr. Hilmar received his BSc degree in Biology 1997 and MSc degree in Medical Science 1999 from University of Iceland, Faculty of Medicine. Later he worked as a research assistant at the Molecular and Cell Biology Research Laboratory at the Icelandic Cancer Society. Hilmar graduated with PhD degree in Medical Biochemistry in 2007 from Gothenburg University, Sweden. Post graduation, Hilmar worked as a research scientist at the Swedish biotech company Cellartis AB, working with pluripotent stem cells, optimizing stem cells technology for drug discovery, toxicity testing and regenerative medicine. Currently Hilmar is a Biometical Program Manager at the Icelandic biotech company ORF Genetics, administrating product quality control and development. Since 1997, Dr Hilmar has been teaching laboratory work in cellular and molecular biology, and to date Hilmar has contracted the Faculty of Medicine, University of Iceland to teach cell biology to first year medical students.
