Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
for the HBA IPDA Awards
The International Package Design Awards showcases and recognizes innovative packaging in the cosmetic, fragrance, hair care, skin care, and personal care industries. We have also included Sampling/Travel Size Packaging, At-Home Devices and Tools Packaging and Innovations in Sustainable Packaging.
Finalists in each category are announced in a press release distributed on PR Newswire and through other trade media in May. The Winners in each Category will be announced during the HBA Industry Awards taking place at HBA Global Expo & Conference in New York, June 18-20 2013. Date and time will be announced. All Finalists and Winners will be showcased in the IPDA Showcase exhibit, sponsored by Happi and Beauty Packaging magazine, during the HBA Global Expo at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York City.
Entries will be accepted from designers, suppliers, and marketing companies from small as well as large companies, and from anywhere in the world. The IPDA is a tribute to our judges that the awards are granted based on the merits of the package, rather than the market strength of the company.
All entries are submitted to the IPDA Voting Committee, composed of designers, suppliers and marketing companies and trade media. (Space permitting, new members from these groups are eligible to be a part of the Voting Committee – you may indicate future interest by contacting Annie Scully at email@example.com.)
The IPDA Voting Committee selects the finalists, up to four in each category, and base their judging on the following criteria:
Early Bird Entry Fee: $230/per entry/per category until February 22nd; Special Early bird discount will be applied for entries of 5 or more.
General Fee: $275 per entry/per category after February 22nd; Discount will be applied for entries of 5 or more
Entry Deadline Date: March 22, 2013
Finalist Judging will be completed by mid- April.
