On June 28th, 2011, national TV personality, food journalist, and former model, Kelly Choi, received the 3rd Annual HBA Positively Beautiful Award on behalf of her charitable work with Angelwish, an organization that helps raise awareness for children living with HIV/Aids and other chronic illnesses and Citymeals-on-Wheels, who provides a continuous lifeline of nutritious food and human company to homebound elderly New Yorkers in need, helping them to live with dignity in their own familiar homes and communities.

The Positively Beautiful Award was established by HBA Global to recognize a celebrity who uses their name and talent to further causes that champion inner-beauty and self-esteem building.

More About Kelly Choi

Born in Seoul, Korea, Kelly Choi is a former model, and won the Elite Modeling Agency’s “Look of the Year” contest, and has been voted as “One of the Sexiest New Yorkers” by the New York Post, and OK! Magazines’ “50 Sexy Singles.” Kelly began her television work as a VJ for MTV Korea, as well as an entertainment reporter on the TV Guide Channel. Having an extensive “homegrown” background with food – Ms. Choi has hosted Bravo TV’s Top Chef Masters, but she has also judged Iron Chef America and Master Chef in Puerto Rico. Ms. Choi has appeared in a variety of specials and programs on NYC LIFE, along with various food and fashion-driven programs. Kelly has also hosted the USA finals of Bocuse d’OR, a prestigious culinary competition held in Lyon, France, as well as the James Beard Media Awards ceremony.

As an acclaimed food journalist, Ms. Choi won a New York Emmy from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for On Camera Talent: Program Host/ Moderator. Ms. Choi created, produces, and hosts New York City’s premiere restaurant shows, "Eat Out New York," as well as "Very Appetizing With Kelly Choi."
